INTERCAM BANCO: OPINIÓN DE LA MESA Divisas 20 de noviembre de 2020 Comentario de la mesa

Hola buenos días, los precios del mercado mexicano oscilaron entre 20.00 a 20.25 durante el “overnight” impulsados por el buen sentimiento sobre la vacuna del Covid y sobre todo por el exceso de liquidez de dólares debido a la cantidad de estímulos que ha inyectado el Gobierno Norteamericano en su economía.

Estaremos muy pendientes de lo que suceda con la “novela” entre Powell y Mnuchin ya que han tenido desacuerdos con algunos fondos que puede desencadenar graves problemas en el Gobierno norteamericano.

Técnicamente para hoy, vemos niveles cercanos a 20.03 como soporte fuerte, con un nivel intermedio marcado en 20.08; las resistencias inmediatas se observan en 20.20 y 20.25; De largo plazo no podemos dejar de observar que el promedio móvil de 200 días se encuentra alrededor de 22.15 un nivel al momento lejano, aunque la realidad es que normalmente el precio tiende a ese promedio tarde o temprano.

Rangos iniciales 20.03/20.20 con altas probabilidades de observar los niveles de resistencia fuerte.

Besides a cold morning, there is nothing new under the sun. Markets worldwide are still cautious over the short-term economic impact of the novel coronavirus, which has already infected more than 56 million people, and cases around the world keep rising, causing major disruptions to the world economy. Even though it’s true that at least 5 or more vaccines are almost ready to be used, it ́s also true that laboratories won’t be able to produce all the doses the world will be needing until at least 2024. This is driving markets upside-down, and will continue to be so for a long time.

Asia-Pacific stock markets closed mixed this Friday, Japanese Nikkei fell -0.42% while Hong Kong ́s Hang Seng gained +0.33%. European markets are positive by mid-day, Spaniard IBEX is +0.41% and UK ́s FTSE is +0.37%. Futures in Wall Street are expecting a negative opening so far.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced yesterday plans to allow several Federal Reserve ́s emergency lending programs to expire on December 31st, reducing Central Bank ́s ability to shore up the financial system, however Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority Leader, has agreed to resume negotiations with congressional Democrats on a long-awaited coronavirus stimulus package. In Europe, post Brexit talks have been suspended after a member of the EU negotiation team tested positive for the disease. Discussions will be carried out remotely in the pursue of getting a deal in the next 10 days. British Pound is 1.3280 and Euro is 1.1870.

Oil is $41.66 USD per barrel, gold is $1,875.80 USD per ounce, and the Peso is 20.14.

A day like today in 1923, the U.S. Patent Office grants Patent No. 1,475,074 to 46- year-old inventor and newspaperman Garrett Morgan for his three-position traffic signal. Though Morgan’s was not the first traffic signal (that one had been installed in London in 1868), it was an important innovation nonetheless: By having a third position besides just “Stop” and “Go,” it regulated crossing vehicles more safely than earlier signals had.
