THE LATIN GRAMMY CULTURAL FOUNDATION® WILL AWARD THE CARLOS VIVES SCHOLARSHIP TO A MUSIC STUDENT DURING A SPECIAL PRESENTATION IN BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA

WHO?

Carlos Vives; Gabriel Abaroa Jr., President/CEO of the Latin Recording Academy®; Oscar Stagnaro, bass professor and executive director of Berklee Latino; and the winner of the scholarship.


WHAT?

To further international awareness and appreciation of Latin music and its makers to the world’s culture, the Carlos Vives Scholarship presented by the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation will be awarded to a student selected from hundreds of applicants. The criteria used for selection were: be a student passionate about Latin music, possess an extraordinary musical talent, and need financial assistance to attend college. The winner was chosen by the Foundation's Scholarship Committee, composed of educators and professors of music. The Scholarship has a maximum value of $200,000 USD and is used towards completing a four-year bachelor's degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston, beginning in September 2018.
