June 6 - 8, 2018
ATLAPA Convention Center
Panama, Rep. of Panama
Over 200 international tire and retread manufacturers and distributors go to Panama each summer to meet and connect with new buyers. As the only US Trade Certified tire endorsed by the US Department of Commerce in the Latin America region, the show brings thousands of qualified tire dealers and buyers from area countries looking for new suppliers to see at their shops.
“Industry looks bright in Latin America” according to Tire Business, July 2017.

“Latin America Has Great Potential”
said Modern Tire Dealer in an article from September 2016.
The International Trade Administration (ITA), part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, has been working to attract more U.S. businesses to export to Latin America. As part of its “Look South” initiative, the ITA has identified 27 sectors of industry that would be especially attractive to U.S. exporters. For the automotive parts and supplies sector, nine countries are identified as specific market targets: Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Panama.
Colombia is a prime market for consumer tires, as well as truck and bus tires, tire retreading equipment and tire recycling operations. Guatemala is in need of wheels and tires, plus service equipment for tire repairs and tire balancing, plus lifts.

Retreading is a big topic at the expo, with the presence of several companies such as Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau, Vipal Cauchos, Retreading Business, Ltd., Hules Banda, S.A. de C.V., Industrias de Hule Galgo, S.A. de C.V., Elgi Rubber Company, LLC.., Industrias del Neumatico S.A.U. - Insa Turbo Tyres, Lakin Tire West, among several others.
Heriberto Romero, general director of Hules Banda S.A. de C.V., says “Large fleet operators already are monitoring their mileage and tire wear, according to Romero. That is something individual drivers have yet to put into practice, which means there’s also a big opportunity for retreaders to be part of a more economical, long-term solution.”
According to Statista, The Statistics Portal “By 2020, demand for tires is expected to reach some 173 million units throughout Latin America.”
“Latin America has great potential. Latin America needs a quality supplier,”
says Krishnaram, CEO of Emrald Resilient Tyre Manufacturers Pvt. Ltd. in India,
a Latin Tyre Expo exhibitor.
