Prosperidad Compartida, el eje central de nuestro gobierno: Claudia Sheinbaum expone proyecto de nación, ante representantes internacionales del IMC

 Miembros del International Monetary Conference (IMC) dialogaron sobre el panorama financiero y económico mundial, sostenibilidad, innovación e inteligencia artificial en el sector.

• La Dra. Sheinbaum anunció la creación del Consejo Empresarial, que será coordinado por Altagracia Gómez, para fortalecer el enlace del gobierno federal con el sector empresarial.

La virtual presidenta electa de México, Dra. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, participó en la edición 2024 del International Monetary Conference (IMC), celebrada en la Ciudad de México bajo la presidencia de Carlos Torres Vila, quien también es presidente de BBVA.

Continuar con la construcción de una Prosperidad Compartida será el eje central del Gobierno de México en los próximos seis años, adelantó la virtual presidenta electa, tras exponer su proyecto de nación ante los representantes del IMC, conformado por bancos multinacionales e instituciones de servicios financieros de todo el mundo.

“Hablamos de Prosperidad Compartida, que es el eje central de lo que va a ser nuestro gobierno en los próximos seis años o la búsqueda de lo que queremos para los próximos seis años: Desarrollo sustentable con bienestar, en pocas palabras significa Prosperidad Compartida, prosperidad para todos y para todas”, expuso.

Resaltó que el desarrollo económico del país tiene que reflejarse en bienestar para las y los trabajadores mexicanos y no solo en los indicadores macroeconómicos de inversión, lo que se buscará realizar de la mano de empresarios, a través de la coordinación con Altagracia Gómez, quien presidirá durante su gobierno un Consejo Empresarial.

“Lo que queremos es bienestar para el pueblo de México y cómo podemos hacer que este desarrollo manufacturero, desarrollo en general de nuestro país se convierta, no solo en inversión, sino también en bienestar”, agregó. 

En el Proyecto de Nación que presentó ante las y los miembros del IMC, destacó la implementación del Plan Nacional de Energía, un Plan Nacional Hídrico, un Plan de Desarrollo Profesional y Técnico; así como un Plan Nacional de Infraestructura que incluye la construcción de carreteras, aeropuertos y nuevos kilómetros de trenes de pasajeros; además de la creación de la Agencia de Transformación Digital y Telecomunicaciones. 

Destacó también el Plan Nacional de Seguridad, basado en la atención a las causas y la cero impunidad, además de un Plan de Vivienda para construir un millón de nuevas casas dignas y accesibles para las y los mexicanos.

A lo largo de dos días de trabajo, los asistentes a la reunión del IMC dialogaron sobre los retos y oportunidades del sistema financiero global, así como los ejes que seguirá la banca en comercio internacional, sostenibilidad, innovación, el uso de inteligencia artificial y los escenarios financieros, económicos y sociales que se vislumbran durante los próximos meses.

IMC, organización fundada en 1954, cuenta con la representación de 56 bancos internacionales de 31 países y su principal propósito es ser un foro de discusión de asuntos financieros globales, así como establecer relaciones entre los líderes de las instituciones bancarias, miembros del gobierno e invitados. Esta reunión se ha celebrado anteriormente en ciudades como Dubai, Munich, París, Washington, D.C., Londres, y Singapur. Las actividades de la Conferencia son administradas por la Secretaría del IMC, proporcionada por la American Bankers Association (ABA) en Washington, D.C. El vicepresidente ejecutivo es Rob Nichols, quien también es el presidente y director ejecutivo de la ABA.

Shared Prosperity, the Central Focus of Our Government: Claudia Sheinbaum presents National Project to International Representatives of the IMC

• Dr. Sheinbaum announced the creation of the Business Council, which will be coordinated by Altagracia Gómez, to strengthen the federal government's connection with the business sector.

The virtual president-elect of Mexico, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, participated in the 2024 edition of the International Monetary Conference (IMC), held in Mexico City under the presidency of Carlos Torres Vila, who is also the Chair of BBVA.

Continuing with the construction of Shared Prosperity will be the central focus of the Government of Mexico for the next six years, announced the virtual president-elect, after presenting her national project to representatives of the International Monetary Conference (IMC), composed of multinational banks and financial services institutions from around the world.

“We are talking about Shared Prosperity, which is the central focus of what our government will be for the next six years or the pursuit of what we want for the next six years: Sustainable development with well-being, in short, means Shared Prosperity, prosperity for everyone,” she stated.

She emphasized that the country's economic development must be reflected in the well-being of Mexican workers and not just in macroeconomic investment indicators, a goal that will be pursued in collaboration with entrepreneurs through coordination with Altagracia Gómez, who will chair a Business Council during her administration.

“What we want is well-being for the people of Mexico and how we can ensure that this manufacturing development, the general development of our country, translates not only into investment but also into well-being,” she added.

In the national project presented to the IMC members, she highlighted the implementation of the National Energy Plan, a National Water Plan, a Professional and Technical Development Plan, as well as a National Infrastructure Plan that includes the construction of roads, airports, and new kilometers of passenger trains. Additionally, the creation of the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency was mentioned.

She also emphasized the National Security Plan, based on addressing root causes and ensuring zero impunity, along with a Housing Plan to build one million new, decent, and affordable homes for Mexicans.

Over the course of two days, attendees of the IMC meeting discussed the challenges and opportunities of the global financial system, as well as the key areas that banking will focus on, such as international trade, sustainability, innovation, the use of artificial intelligence, and the financial, economic, and social scenarios anticipated in the coming months.

Founded in 1954, the IMC represents 56 banking institutions from 31 countries, and its main purpose is to serve as a forum for discussing global financial issues and establishing relationships among leaders of banking institutions, government officials, and invited guests. This meeting has previously been held in cities such as Dubai, Munich, Paris, Washington, D.C., London, and Singapore. The activities of the Conference are administered by the IMC Secretariat, which is provided by the American Bankers Association (ABA) in Washington, D.C., and the Executive Vice President is Rob Nichols, who is also the ABA President and Chief Executive Officer.
