More News: Women Climate Justice Leaders To Speak Out At Public Event During COP23 Climate Talks

BONN, Germany (November, 2017) - In parallel to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP23 climate talks taking place in Bonn, Germany - women leaders from around the world will advocate for climate action during a public event to be presented by the Women's Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN) International in downtown Bonn.

'Women Leading Solutions on the Frontlines of Climate Change - Bonn' will be held Monday, November 13th from 13:00 - 18:00 at the Ameron Hotel Königshof (Adenauerallee 9, 53111 Bonn, Germany). Livestream video footage will be available via Facebook for media interested in covering this event remotely.

'Women Leading Solutions on the Frontlines of Climate Change - Bonn' will feature extraordinary global women leaders joined in solidarity to speak out against environmental and social injustice, draw attention to root causes of the climate crisis, and present the diverse array of visions and strategies with which they are working to shape a healthy and equitable world.

This public event is organized with the conviction that real forward movement toward climate solutions depends on the full and equal participation of women in all stages of decision making and implementation. Through the stories shared by each woman, it will become abundantly clear why the voices of frontline women leaders must be at the forefront of the UNFCCC, and all local, national, and international work to address the climate crisis.

Included in the event will be discussions of vital topics including the intersectionality of gender and environment; Indigenous rights; carbon sequestration in soils; Pacific Islands women's leadership; protection of Earth and water defenders; and women's leadership and calls for action within a climate justice framework.

The voices of frontline, grassroots, Indigenous and other most-impacted women will be heard alongside policy-makers and international advocates.

Banco de México: primera sesión del nuevo Comité del Mercado Cambiario Mexicano

Se celebró la primera sesión del nuevo Comité del Mercado Cambiario Mexicano En el marco de los anuncios realizados el pasado 11 de octubre referentes a la creación y establecimiento de un nuevo Comité del Mercado Cambiario Mexicano, se informa que el día de ayer éste sesionó por primera vez, quedando así formalmente establecido. Como se mencionó en su oportunidad, el Banco de México consideró adecuado organizar y establecer, bajo su liderazgo, un Comité del Mercado Cambiario Mexicano que permitiera fomentar el desarrollo y funcionamiento eficaz del mercado cambiario en nuestro país, así como la promoción, implementación y adopción de los principios de buenas prácticas del Código Global de Conducta del Mercado Cambiario. El Comité quedó constituido por un número muy diverso de participantes del mercado cambiario nacional. Así, participan en él, además de la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público, instituciones de banca múltiple, casas de bolsa, fondos de pensiones, fondos de inversión, corporativos no financieros, representantes de plataformas de operación electrónica, empresas de corretaje y asociaciones tales como la ABM y la AMIB, entre otras. Es importante mencionar que el Banco de México no revelará en ningún momento información a los miembros del Comité relativa a la instrumentación de las políticas cambiarias o monetarias, o bien: sobre las decisiones relativas a la realización de las funciones del banco central o que incidan o puedan incidir sobre el mercado cambiario mexicano. News: 'Women Speak: Stories, Case Studies And Solutions From The Frontlines Of Climate Change' Launches Globally

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, Calif. (November, 2017) - A new online research and storytelling database,'Women Speak: Stories, Case Studies And Solutions From The Frontlines Of Climate Change', has gone live around the world on November 1st, 2017, and will be highlighted throughout a November launch month as a critical tool for frontline leaders, policy makers, journalists, activists, educators, students, and all those seeking to understand and demonstrate why and how women are paramount to just action on climate change.

The 'Women Speak: Stories, Case Studies And Solutions From The Frontlines Of Climate Change' database and initiative has been designed and compiled by the Women's Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN) International in order to shift the narrative on how we achieve an equitable and sustainable world - through the collection and sharing of hundreds, and ultimately many thousands of stories by and about global women leaders working in areas such as forest and biodiversity protection; fossil fuel resistance efforts; ecologic agriculture and land rights protection; renewable energy implementation; climate law and policy; education and grassroots movement building; and much more.

The database responds to an urgent need, identified by WECAN International and many diverse groups worldwide, for a compilation of qualitative evidence, and a readily accessible and ever-growing repository of examples of women's actions for climate justice and solutions.

Despite the fact that women are impacted first and worst by climate change, and have proven to be central to successful climate solutions and policies, the voice and rights of women often continue to be suppressed and ignored. As CNN and Media Matters have reported, only 15% of those interviewed in the media on climate change have been women.

The press is invited to explore the Women Speak database - www.wecaninternational.org/womenspeak - and to reach out with questions and media requests.

Diverse spokeswomen are available for interviews to provide further analysis on the database, and the importance of women's work to address global social and ecologic crises. Leaders and global allies of the Women's Earth and Climate Action Network share their thoughts below.

Women leaders have created four tree nurseries and are planting many hectares of land each year. We do our work with our bare hands and carry the new trees in buckets on our heads to the planting zones surrounding our villages. Our main goal in re-foresting our area is to protect the old growth forest still remaining, and plant new trees to add to our forest's ability to sequester carbon, while also providing new sources for fuelwood and building timber. We Congolese women are taking our stewardship of the world's second largest rainforest seriously. We have learned that without trees, we have no future. AEM EN “DÍA INTERNACIONAL DE LA ELIMINACIÓN DE LA VIOLENCIA EN CONTRA DE LAS MUJERES Y LAS NIÑAS”

“Aprovechar la ciencia y tecnología de hoy, para difundir todo lo que contribuya a educar y lograr una sociedad sin violencia contra mujeres y niñas, será de la mayor utilidad al país”: Mendieta

La Agencia Espacial Mexicana (AEM), organismo descentralizado de la Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT), impulsa y promueve entre su personal las acciones sectoriales del “Día internacional de la eliminación de la violencia en contra de las mujeres y las niñas”.

Lo anterior, a fin de prevenir y enfrentar la violencia de género, en seguimiento al trabajo de su coordinadora de sector SCT por crear condiciones para que niñas y mujeres de México puedan acceder a una vida sin violencia, compromiso permanente del Gobierno de la República.

Así lo indicó el Director General de la AEM, Javier Mendieta Jiménez, quien señaló que el organismo a su cargo tiene un profundo compromiso con este conjunto de acciones del Gobierno Federal, por lo que todo el año se redoblan esfuerzos para promover las acciones relativas a este día.

La AEM realizó un ejercicio de sensibilización para el personal consistente en la ponencia “Violentómetro”, por parte de la Directora de Innovación y Competitividad de AEM, Lic. Bereniz Castañeda Talavera, y en la exhibición de videos de prevención y combate de violencia de género.

El evento interno, de naturaleza informativa y educativa del personal de la AEM, contó también con la valiosa participación de la Enlace Responsable de las Acciones de Igualdad de Género de la AEM, Lic. Brenda Cortés Castellanos.

Se recordó que, en diciembre de 2016, una certificadora externa en materia de igualdad y no discriminación, emitió certificado nivel plata a favor de la AEM, del proceso de certificación de la NOM mexicana NMX-R-025-SCFI-2015 en materia de igualdad y no discriminación.

El personal de AEM refrendó su compromiso como joven organismo con las acciones para hacer visible el rechazo a la violencia contra las mujeres, además de seguir portando prendas color naranja los días 25 de cada mes, y sumándose a las acciones sectoriales por esta causa.

“Da Vinci dijo que la ciencia más útil, es aquella cuyo fruto es el más comunicable. Así, aprovechar la ciencia y tecnología de hoy, para difundir todo lo que contribuya a educar y lograr una sociedad sin violencia contra mujeres y niñas, será de la mayor utilidad al país”, concluyó Mendieta.

Se investigan lesiones contra cuatro personas en Xochimilco

El agente del Ministerio Público de la Coordinación Territorial XO-2 inició una carpeta de investigación por el delito de lesiones dolosas por disparo de arma de fuego, en agravio de cuatro personas, entre ella una mujer menor de edad, quienes fueron agredidas en las inmediaciones del embarcadero de Nativitas, en la delegación Xochimilco.

De acuerdo a los primeros reportes, aproximadamente a las 02:00 horas policías preventivos fueron notificados, vía radio, de que en el barrio Xaltocan, se encontraban las cuatro víctimas con heridas de bala, por lo que solicitaron la presencia de paramédicos, quienes los trasladaron de manera inmediata a diferentes hospitales para su atención médica.

Al lugar acudieron elementos de la Policía de Investigación (PDI) y peritos en criminalística y fotografía, a fin de recabar los primeros indicios que permitan localizar a los implicados y evitar la impunidad.

SSP-CDMX PARTICIPÓ EN LA EXPO RESCUE INTERNATIONAL 2017

Este medio día se llevó a cabo la clausura de la "Expo Rescue International 2017", donde participó la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública de la Ciudad de México (SSP-CDMX), con la finalidad de dar a conocer las funciones y protocolos que las dependencias de rescate a nivel nacional e internacional ejercen en situaciones de desastres naturales o accidentes.

Dicho evento se llevó a cabo del 23 al 25 de noviembre, en las instalaciones del Centro CitiBanamex, ubicado en Lomas de Sotelo, Hipódromo de las Américas, Delegación Miguel Hidalgo, donde fueron colocados más de 150 stand de las distintas corporaciones, como el Heroico Cuerpo de Bomberos, Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA), Policía Federal, Protección Civil, entre otras.

Por parte de la SSP-CDMX, los agrupamientos del Escuadrón de Rescate y Urgencias Médicas (ERUM), Dirección General de Servicios Aéreos (Cóndores), Subsecretaría de Control de Tránsito, Participación Ciudadana, acudieron a la Expo para exhibir los equipos con los que día a día trabajan; asimismo explicaron la labor que realizó esta dependencia, durante el sismo del día 19 de septiembre.

Cabe mencionar, que las actividades que destacaron, fue la demostración de extracción vehicular realizado por paramédicos del ERUM, quienes interactuaron con el público, con la finalidad de crear conciencia en temas de protección civil.

Por otro lado, el Escuadrón Acrobático, conformado por los policías de tránsito, realizaron un espectáculo con motocicletas.

La expo fue dirigida por el Gobierno Federal, así como coordinadores estatales de Protección Civil, empresas especializadas en rescate, las cuales impartieron distintas pláticas sobre temas de desastres, incendios, rescate, salud y prevención.

SSP-CDMX APLICA PROTOCOLO ESTADIO SEGURO EN EL ENCUENTRO DE FÚTBOL ENTRE AMÉRICA CONTRA CRUZ AZUL

La Secretaría de Seguridad Pública de la Ciudad de México (SSP-CDMX), efectuará el operativo de prevención y vialidad para el partido de fútbol entre los equipos América contra Cruz Azul, correspondiente a los cuartos de final, de la liga MX, que se efectuará el día de mañana domingo 26 de noviembre, en el estadio Azteca, a las 20:00 horas.

En la estrategia preventiva se desplegarán tres mil 713 policías en 231 vehículos, quienes pertenecen a las Unidades de Protección Ciudadana (UPC's), Subsecretaría de Control de Tránsito, de la Policía Auxiliar (PA), de la Policía Bancaria e Industrial (PBI), del Escuadrón de Rescate y Urgencias Médicas (ERUM), de la Dirección General de Servicios Aéreos (Cóndores), así como de la seguridad privada del estadio, ubicado al sur de la Ciudad capital.

Además, los policías de la Subsecretaría de Control de Tránsito pondrán énfasis en las vialidades primarias y secundarias en el perímetro del inmueble deportivo, particularmente en las vialidades como la calzada de Tlalpan, Miramontes, Acoxpa, entre otras.

En lo que se refiere a la prevención, se acompañará a las porras de ambos equipos en su arribo a la citada cede deportiva y, al mismo tiempo, anteponiendo sus derechos humanos, se aplicarán filtros de seguridad en los accesos al “Coloso de Santa Úrsula”, para evitar que los aficionados ingresen con armas punzo-cortantes, armas de fuego, o cualquier otro artefacto que ponga en riesgo la integridad física de los aficionados.

De la misma manera, se evitará la comisión de delitos, como la reventa, robo del patrimonio de los aficionados, u otras acciones negativas que pongan en riesgo la convivencia en este tipo de eventos.

Cabe subrayar que ésta institución proporcionará a los conductores de vehículos las siguientes alternativas viales: Periférico Sur, Viaducto Tlalpan, Boulevard Gran Sur, Rey Papatzin, San Guillermo, Santo Tomás, entre otras.
