INTERCAM BANCO: OPINIÓN DE LA MESA Divisas 31 de marzo de 2020 Comentario de la mesa

Hola buenos días, el mercado amanece con una apreciación importante con respecto al precio operado la jornada anterior y sobre el precio de cierre. La operación de ayer osciló en un rango 23.50 y 24.50 aproximadamente. Lo anterior se debió al precio del “crudo”, el cual alcanzó 19 dólares el barril (WTI), el precio más bajo desde marzo del 2002 cuando el precio alcanzó los 17.85 dólares el barril. Adicionalmente, se profundizó con el riesgo país que tuvo una nueva alza, alcanzando los 266 puntos.

Hoy el precio amanece con una menor presión, hemos alcanzado durante la escritura de este comentario el nivel de 23.67 aproximadamente, el riesgo país se ubica en 245.77 puntos, el precio del crudo lo hace en 21 dólares el barril y en general los mercados de divisas emergentes recuperan entre +0.07% y 1.01%. La apreciación de nuestra divisa ayer se debió, además de lo anterior, al anuncio que hizo la Comisión de Cambios de Banco de México y Hacienda activando la línea de Swaps que tiene disponible con el FED y poniéndola a disposición de las instituciones de crédito, mediante subastas de crédito en dólares empezando este 1 de abril por un monto de hasta 5 mil millones de dólares cuyo plazo de vencimiento es a 84 días.

Técnicamente, vemos niveles importantes sobre 23.65 como soporte inicial y una extensión a 23.50 mientras que en la parte alta el 23.85 y 24.0 fungen como resistencias inmediatas. Rango inicial 23.55/23.85.

Stock markets around the world are mixed this Tuesday, Asian ́s closed between -2.26% and + 1.85%, Europeans are by mid-day between -0.11% and +0.78% and US shares are opening with losses of -0.80% for the moment.

It ́s been just a few days since the US has launched the biggest stimulus package ever, and they ́re already thinking on a new one, "phase 4" this will include more direct payments to American people and spending on infrastructure.

Japan is also looking for a new stimulus package, a ¥60 trillion ($556 billion) to help households and small businesses to survive coronavirus fallout. This will be the boldest-ever stimulus package in Japan, exceeding the ¥56.8 trillion stimuli in response to the 2008 global financial crisis.

China ́s manufacturing PMI and non-manufacturing PMI returned to above 50 in March, providing some strength to Yuan.

The price war between Saudi Arabia and Rusia is sinking oil prices, WTI is around $20.48 USD per barrel. The Euro is trading around 1.0950 and the British Pound is 1.24.

Coronavirus has reached 803,313 confirmed cases and 39,014 deaths worldwide.

The US has doubled China, with 164,719 cases, while Italy has 11,591 deaths up today. Mexico has now 1,094 confirmed cases with a death toll of 28. The Peso is around 23.56, after hitting 24.55 yesterday.

A day like today in 1889, the Eiffel Tower is dedicated in Paris in a ceremony presided over by Gustave Eiffel, the tower's designer, and attended by French Prime Minister Pierre Tirard, a handful of dignitaries, and 200 construction workers. In 1889, to honor the centenary of the French Revolution, the French government planned an international exposition and announced a design competition for a monument to be built on the Champ-de-Mars in central Paris. The centennial committee chose Eifel ́s plan of an open-lattice wrought-iron tower that would reach almost 1,000 feet above Paris, and be the world ́s tallest man-made structure.
